Oxford American Announces Spring Local Live Music Lineup At South On Main

The Oxford American announced the continuation of the Local Live concert series at South on Main (1304 Main Street). Local Live series is curated by the Oxford American and features the best local and regional talent on a headlining bill each Wednesday night for free at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 1 marks the continuation of the series in the second quarter of 2015, featuring Fayetteville-based R.J. Mischo and His Red Hot blues Band at 7:30 p.m. The series is currently made possible by the generous sponsorship of Cosmic Cowboy Music.

“I’m excited to be expanding the reach of the series to more regional bands,” says program director Ryan Harris. “There are several groups based in Fayetteville (R.J. Mischo; Cutty Rye; Sad Daddy), Fort Smith (Luke Pruitt; Cutthroat Trout), Hot Springs (The Muses), and Springfield, Missouri (Cindy Woolf) who’ll be playing South on Main for the first time.”

Since inception in September 2013, nearly every Wednesday Local Live has provided paid mid-week performance opportunities for working musicians in the region. More than 200 artists have played the Local Live series over the last 15 months, providing free concerts for an audience of over 6,000 people throughout that period. Local Live will continue to reach across diverse musical genres, bringing the community together at South on Main.

Local Live’s mission is to provide intimate, high quality, and authentic Southern cultural experiences for the people of Little Rock and beyond with live music and great dining experiences.Music ranges across disciplines and is carefully selected to fit the acoustics and aesthetic of South on Main. The primary goals of Local Live are to provide mid-week opportunities for these musicians to perform in front of an appreciative and sophisticated audience; to create a fertile artistic community for new collaboration, relationships, and ideas to be formed; and to provide exceptional experiences for artists and patrons alike.
